Let me share my moving experience today.
I recently moved from Ontario to New Brunswick with the help of experienced Canada movers. We have settled in Moncton, one of the largest and fast developing cities in the province. I will explain why we have decided to travel so far and what was my first impression of Moncton.
I am a small business owner. Together with my elder son we have been doing home repairs and offering handyman services for more than 10 years in Mississauga. The never-ending lockdown was ruining my family business, this is the reason why I started thinking about relocating to a safer place with a better working environment. We have hired the services of one of the reliable moving companies Canada and arrived in Moncton at the end of March 2021.
While Ontario moved at a very slow pace with recoveries, New Brunswick kept its residents in yellow and orange zones, rarely red. The politics of the local government still allowed people to earn their living even under restrictions. Job prospects looked brighter in New Brunswick with so many new houses and residential developments under construction. In a word, I needed change at this time of my life.
One of the most important things to think of was the cost of living in New Brunswick
For example, the rent prices in Moncton and its surroundings seemed to be 40 percent lower than in Mississauga. We were lucky to rent a newly renovated semi-detached house in North Moncton for $1300 per month. The insurance fees for cars and housing were another considerable saving, about 30% percent less than I used to pay. In general, I had no problem living comfortably on our savings before I got back to full-time employment.
I can not say that I am very sensitive to changes in weather, but the climate differences between Ontario and New Brunswick are noticeable. From my perception, the summer is warmer here in Moncton, but the rainfall is more frequent, too. My new neighbors promise a lot of snow in winter, but we will see. The proximity to beautiful ocean beaches is another great advantage of our new location.
I have found New Brunswick a very family-friendly place to live. The scenery is very green with many accessible picturesque places and long trails. We noticed right away that the lifestyle is relaxed and slower-paced than in busy Ontario. It is not that we did not like it, but it takes time to adjust to a local environment. Another great point is that the traffic is not that heavy and it takes you no more than 30 minutes to get to where you want to go.. And no crowds anywhere!
I recommend anyone who decides to move to another province to allow at least 3 months for this process. There is a lot to be done. I should mention that we contacted 3 different relocation companies Canada, and we made a decision after comparing prices. It cost us a little over $4000 to relocate our 3-bedroom house. In summary, the task went smoothly and the communication with Camovers was excellent.
