A bill of lading (BL or BoL) is a legal document that contains the terms and conditions of your upcoming move. You will have a copy of the bill from the driver who loads your shipment. This document will accompany your shipping items and must be signed by your moving company, the movers, and you.

I advise you to read attentively and understand the bill of lading before you sign it. You can learn from the terms and conditions for payment of the total charges and equally important information about reimbursement in the event of loss or damage. 

What is an Inventory?

The inventory lists all of your items, their contents, and conditions. The driver checks it out before loading. Recheck if everything listed on the checklist is correct.  But I want you to know that the boxes packed by you would be written on the inventory like PBO (filled by the owner). It means that the moving company cannot open such boxes and check the condition of your items. Usually, insurance doesn’t cover such boxes.
